mw art show 09

When someone mentions this years Mary Ward art show, two things come to mind: 1. it was so cooooooool!, 2. I WISH I WENT EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.
Unfortunately I only went to the art show on the Friday afternoon right before my soccer game, so I didn't even have much time. But I really liked everything about it! I think that the theme was great. I said to someone that last years art show probably wasn't as cool because the theme wasn't as cool but apparently the art shows are always amazing at Mary Ward. I'm definitely going for the next two years if not more. I am glad that I could be a part of such a great showcase of Mary Ward talent. I had my work for this course in the art show and I helped take it down. Next year I will definitely help set it up. I can't wait to see how it comes together. It's such an amazing transformation!

So, some of my favourite things in the art show were, the grade 10 design train things, they were so cool, the huge skull guy in the art room, the dresses done by the grade 11 design students and the self portraits with the picture underneath them. I wasted a lot of time just staring at one trying to find the little stuffed toy in that collage of cartoons, turns out there was no plushie! I also loved the grade 10 comm/media unit 16 videos! They were all really good and it was interesting to see people's different approaches and interpretation of the assignment. Unfortunately, Mandy and I only finished our video two days ago and it wasn't in the art show :(.

I did not even get a chance to go into tech and look at the work done there! Next year I will definitely explore every inch of the art show and hopefully get one of those cool tshirts. $5 was more than worth it and I would recommend the Mary Ward art shows to anybody, I can't wait for next years!
